ROLENT: Location Recording
ROLENT offer location recording services combined with an audio editing suite.
This means that we can come to your venue and record your event on the day. We can then perform any final editing back at our editing suite prior to transferring the finished recording to a medium of your choice. Currently this is typically to CD, however a variey of formats are possible.
Systems available include 8 / 16 / 24 track mobile recording setups, all with a technician to setup, test and monitor during the event.
Location Recording: hard disk recording using extremely reliable portable hard disk recorders. Equipment options include 8, 16 and 24 track portable recording packages. Perfect for recording live choirs, classical performances or even business meetings or corporate presentations. We can record your event on the day and then afterwards edit it and transfer to a finished format of your choice. Location recording available in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Wiltshire, Northants & Berkshire.
Our audio editing suite can carry out complex edits or we can simply transfer your audio between formats for you. If you have a specific requirement please email to confirm whether this is within our capabilities.
Recent format transfer projects have included transfer from minidisc to .wav, minidisc to CD and cassette to CD. Audio editing projects include editing of soundtrack to synchronise with video, levelling out volumes across different tracks on a CD and editing out extraneous noise from field recordings.
Costs are typically based on the time a project is likely to take. In most cases it will be more cost effective for a client to purchase a new recording where possible, rather than requesting transfer of (for example) vinyl records to CD. However in some instances this is not possible, and audio transfer is the only option available.
We can normally only offer location recording services in the South-East of England, due to logistical considerations.
Many audio editing and format transfer jobs are possible regardless of your geographical location, as the originals can be mailed to us and then mailed back with the new medium. We would always advise that you send on a registered or courier delivery.

An increasing amount of work is now handled purely in the digital domain, either on hard disc recorders, on PC's or a combination of both.
